Harley Merlin and the Detector Fix by Bella Forrest

This is the 7th book in the Harley Merlin series.

On the run from the Coven she used to call home, Harley Merlin knows that Katherine’s power and influence are spreading like a poison. And she has no doubt that Katherine will follow through with her promise to torture and kill her friends, one by one.

Then Harley discovers that the key to her enemy’s undoing might be hiding in a familiar place—her parents’ Grimoire. With Finch, Wade, and Garrett by her side, Harley vows to steal Hester and Hiram’s final gift.

Liar. Rebel. Jailbreaker. Why not add “thief” to the list?

Meanwhile, Jacob senses trouble brewing in the San Diego Coven, with their friends imprisoned and Levi’s thirst for power spiraling out of control. Amid the chaos, the magical detector is on the verge of completion and Jacob meets a human girl who makes his heart race. But Katherine has plans for him. Oh yes, does she have plans…

I absolutely love this series! It’s by far, one of the best that I have read.

Harley is a brilliant character. She has so much power, and is so fierce and strong, but is so relatable as a character in term of her emotions and how she thinks. She has been through so much and is having so much pressure put on her that I’m feeling sorry for her.

Jacob’s perspective was interesting to read. He is a good character, but he needs to think about things more. His decision making is normally too rash, which really had an impact in this book. He is a very likable character though and I enjoyed getting a glimpse in to his head.

I love all the characters really, except Levi. He really was being a dick regardless of what excuse he had. Isadora moved to the top of my list reading this book. She is so caring, always turns up to save the day, and is a rock for everyone in the rag team, especially Harley.

There was various moment’s which made me laugh and some shocking moments also. But the ending. Oh my god, it’s left me feeling gutted. It sure left an impact.

Overall, this is one of my favourite series and I would recommend it to everyone. I’m looking forward to the next one and I’m already feeling sad that it’s coming to the end.

My rating: 5/5*
