Shattered Soul (Riverside Docks Crew Book 2)

The second book is the Riverside Docks Crew series is out now!

Claimed.
Shot.
Kidnapped.
Threatened.
Kidnapped again.
Tortured.

The Crew has taken everything from me. I’ve even lost the only family I had, and yet I’m still here.

Frankie Gomez staked his claim on me, but even he didn’t expect to develop feelings.

My shattered soul craves more though.
Frankie, Joe, Ash and Chris.
They all saved me. They all own a part of my broken soul.

The Crew may be thicker than blood, and Tiger might be the boss, but I’ve made my own gang with these men. And we’re going to rage war upon the Royal Gang for what they did.

The Riverside Docks Crew, the Downtown Bridge Crew and the Royal Gang might have been at war before, but they’ve seen nothing yet.

The war is only just beginning.

This is the second book in a reverse harem, dark romance series, featuring dark themes and gang violence.

The Gender War (The Gender Game book 4) by Bella Forrest

This is the fourth book in The Gender Games series.

“For the sake of Viggo, my brother, my family in Patrus, and every single citizen of our God-forsaken nations, I had to stop the war.”

I’m enjoying listening to this series on audiobook as much as I first enjoyed reading it.

Violet is a great character. She wants to stop the war which is begining to rage between Matrus and Patrus. I love Viggo. He’s a fantastic. I love the romance between him and Violet. It is overpowering the story, nor is it cheesy. It’s just sweet.

I love all of the other characters. Owen, Melissa Dale, Amber, and the two boys. They’re all great. Thomas is a little frustrating though.

This book is full of action from the start, to what happened at Ambers mansion, to the ending at the Palace.

The world building is faultless. It’s brilliant and I love the dystopian feel with what’s going on between both Matrus and Patrus.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this series. It’s a fun and exciting YA series.

My rating: 5/5*

This book is filled with action.

Serving Him (Complete Boxset) by M. S. Parker and Cassie Wild

This is the full boxset of the Serving Him Series.

“I moved to New York from Iowa to find a life that I didn’t know I was looking for. I expected to have to work hard and barely make ends meet. But…I never expected to meet HIM.”

For twenty-one year-old Aleena Davison, it was a life-long dream coming true when she said goodbye to her dreary small-town life in Iowa and moved to Manhattan.
However, it didn’t take long for her dream to turn into a nightmare. Everything from the roommate from hell to her asshole of a boss, contributed to her pain and she’d just about given up. That was…until she ran into devilish handsome, Dominic Snow.
The mysterious stranger not only tried saving her waitress job, but also made her an offer she couldn’t refuse, a new and much more lucrative job.
“Strictly professional,” he’d insisted. But could she trust herself working for the hottest man she’d ever met?

I enjoyed reading this book. The characters were good and the storyline was good.

Aleena was a good character, although she was a little bit too sensitive about her race at times. I liked how she was a strong and was able to deal with Dominic and his busy lifestyle. She fitting into becoming his PA easily.

It was great reading Dominic and Aleena’s relationship grow and seeing him teach her about his sexual lifestyle. They had a clear spark and she just understood him. I enjoyed reading him come to terms with his feelings towards her. It took him a little while to realise that she wasn’t like others he had been with, and took, him a while to learn to the proper aftercare with her. In the end, they were great together.

I loved Dominic. The more you learnt about him, the better he was. I felt for him and what he went through in the past.

My only criticism is that I didn’t understand why this was split into volumes. They ended at almost random points and I didn’t really see the point. It made more sense being read as one continuous book.

Overall, I enjoyed reading this book. The characters were good and the storyline was good. I would definitely recommend it.

Dirty Dom (Valetti Crime Family Book 1) by Willow Winters

This is the first book in the Valetti Crime Family series, although this book can also be read as a standalone.

I’m not always proud of the man I am, but when you grow up in a crime family, there aren’t a lot of options.
I do what I have to do, and more than often, I crave it.

The power, the women, the money. All of it comes easy to me.
Until Becca walked into my office.

Everything about her was tempting. Her beautiful eyes that pierced into me, her body that was made for sin.
She came to pay off a debt, but I wanted more.
So I did what I’ve always done, I took what I wanted.

She’s a good girl who never should have walked through that door.
I never should have touched her, but now that I have, I can’t stop.

I’ll push her boundaries, she’ll cave to temptation.
We’ll both forget about the danger.
And that’s a mistake I can’t afford…

I enjoyed reading this book. The storyline was good and the characters were great.

Becca was a good character. She’s having a hard time, and then stumbled into Dom while laying off her dead husbands debt. She’s a strong character and deals with everything well given the circumstances. She battles against her feelings towards Dom though.

Dom was brilliant. He’s got a dark family, but they’re also close. He knows he wants Becca from the start and he fights to get her. He saves her, and I love how hard he takes her rejection. I enjoyed the small insight to his family as well. It was nice to see a mob family so close.

I loved watching them come together, because ultimately, he gives everything up for her. I feel like they needed to be together. She needed someone strong to have her back and I feel that he needed something more in his life.

Overall, this book was a quick enjoyable read and I’d definitely recommend it.

Teach Me Dirty by Jade West

This is a standalone book.

They tell me it’s unhealthy, just a stupid crush. They tell me it’s infatuation, and will never come to anything. Never mean anything.
Because what would I know, right?
I haven’t even finished school. I’m just a silly little girl.

And no little girl should want the things I want from him.
No little girl should have the thoughts I have…

But they’re wrong.
I really do love Mr Roberts.
I love Mr Roberts because he’s the most amazing man, the most amazing artist, the most amazing teacher that could ever have existed.

And what if… just what if Mr Roberts wants me, too?
What if Mr Roberts really does want to Teach Me Dirty?

I really enjoyed reading this book. The characters were great and the storyline was good.

I am a fan of teacher-student romance books, but usually not with large age gaps, however this book was brilliant.

I loved Helen and Mark Roberts. Both of them were brilliant and I loved having both of their points of view. Helen was mature for her age, and she knew exactly what she wanted and how she felt. She had moments, but she was only eighteen. She definitely knew her own mind though. Mark knew it was wrong with his position, but he came to accept his feelings. I absolutely loved him. He just wanted what’s best for her, regardless of his feelings towards her. Ultimately, what’s best for both of them was being together.

I absolutely loved watching them grow together, and it was brilliant reading him teach her in more ways than one. They connected on every level, heart and soul. He taught her in the bedroom as well as in the classroom, and they also found friendship with each other. He helped her grow as a person, and she helped him grow. They changed each others lives. I loved the art aspect and how they spoke about it and expressed it. There was true emotion in this book.

I found Lizzie annoying until the end with her confession. After that I could understand her actions and I did feel sorry for her.

Her dad’s reaction was hard, but it was also realistic. He saw what anyone would have. Reading the book, you know different because their feelings were real and you’ve seen inside their thoughts. I loved how it spiraled out from there, and ultimately, I loved her mums love for her daughter and how they fixed everything. Helen needed Mark and her mum knew it after seeing her heart broken.

This book was brilliant because it had emotion. It shows that you really can’t help who you fall in love with. Sometimes two people just click, and belong together.

I would definitely recommend this book.

Wild Card (Advantage Play Book 1) by Kelsie Rae

This is the first book in the Advantage Play series, but it can also be read as a standalone.

Rule #1: Keep your head down and your eyes up. It makes you invisible. But not stupid.

I should’ve known I’d get caught counting cards, especially in a mob-owned casino. But I’m desperate. And desperate times call for desperate measures. Now I find myself in the basement beneath the casino with a bruise the size of Texas on my cheek and the promise that the head of the family, Kingston Romano, will be visiting me soon.

I’ve heard the rumors.

This is just the beginning.

I’m screwed.

Then I meet Kingston face to face. Sensing my desperation, he approaches me with a proposition to pay for my transgression. And I have no choice but to accept it.

What I’m not ready for, however, are the consequences that follow, putting me in the crosshairs of a war between the Romanos and a rival family, the Allegrettis.

As the cards are played and lives are threatened, I’m left with no choice. I need to pick a side and decide if I’m all in, or if I’ll be taken for all I’m worth.

I enjoyed reading this book. The characters are great and the storyline was good.

Ace is a brilliant character. She’s feisty and strong. She’s had a rough past that has shaped her into the person she is. She’s screwing over the casinos on the way to her little plan of vengeance, and she gets caught by Kingston.

I loved Kingston. His fairly new to taking charge of his family. He’s a dark man, but Ace finds the light in him. He gets completely drawn in by Ace, and ultimately, they fall for each other.

It was brilliant to watch them grow together. They just work. She got him, to bring down his walls, and he made her do the same. They both hate the same man, but for different reason.

The story was brilliant. I loved how it revolved around poker, while using it to bring down the Allegrettis. I enjoyed how everything slowly pieced together, and then came together at the end. I also loved the connection with Gigi.

I think the difference POV chapters added to the story and gave a wider picture.

Overall, I enjoyed reading this book and would definitely recommend it.

Scorned Princess (Crooked Paradise Book 1) by Eva Chance and Harlow King

This is the first book in the Crooked Paradise series.

Hell hath no fury…

I thought I was trading one evil for a lesser one. Marry a man I might eventually love, forge an alliance between his gang and my father’s, and get out from under Dad’s sadistic thumb.

Turns out my fiancé has other plans. Like slaughtering me and my entire family the night before the wedding.

I make it out alive, left with nothing but a thirst for vengeance. But if I want to crush the prick who betrayed me, I have to turn to the biggest pricks of them all.

Hot, cocky, and dangerous, Wylder Noble and his men rule Paradise Bend. Their help doesn’t come cheap. I’ve got to prove I’m strong enough to deserve it.

Whatever they throw at me, I can take it. No taunting words or scorching looks will break the wall around my heart.

They think I’m made of glass? I’m a girl of shards that can cut you to the bone.

Before this is over, someone’s going to bleed. And this time, it won’t be me.

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were great, the storyline was great and the plot developed well.

Mercy is a fantastic character. She witnesses absolutely hell and barely escapes with her life. She turns to the Nobles because she doesn’t have anywhere else to go. She’s strong, fierce, stubborn and determined. I loved her character. She puts up with a lot of shit by the boys, and yet there’s a connection between them all.

The four boys are good characters. Wylder is an interesting character. He’s naturally suspicious about her, and given his family and her family, you can understand it. He does treat her like shit though and some of the things he makes her do is just harsh. Kaige, Gideon and Rowan are also good, interesting characters. The spark between Mercy and Kaige is brilliant. Gideon seems like the quiet one although he was nice to her. She has a history with Rowan which has left things a little bitter. I’m intrigued to learn more about that. They’re all very different characters with very different personalities. I think the occasional POV chapter from the boys helps you to understand them more.

I think there was just the right amount of spark between Mercy and the boys. There’s clear tension between them all, but their bodies are also betraying their thoughts. I’m looking forward to seeing this develop.

The storyline is brilliant. Ultimately, Mercy wants revenge on Colt. She does everything to make them believe that she isn’t going to screw them over. I loved reading her solve they’re little murder case and I loved how it all turned out.

The ending is definitely a cliffhanger. Just when things looked to be on the up, that happened. I’m intrigued to find out whether the boys did screw her over or whether Colt just said that. It has definitely left me looking forward to the next book in the series.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. The characters are brilliant, the storyline is great and I’m looking forward to seeing how thing are going to develop.

I would definitely recommend this book.

A Dominant Salvation (A Dominant series Book 3) by Lena Black

This is the third and final book in A Dominant series.

When beautiful and strong-willed Gabrielle Hyde met the enigmatic and dominant Damian Hunt, gorgeous and confident, he was impossible to resist, no matter how much she tried. Like Elle, Hunt was tormented by his past, obsessed with controlling himself and her. He introduced her to a world of sex, travel, and power. And, in turn, she showed him everything he’d been missing, love, trust, and understanding. Though their road has had its share of bumps and detours, they’ve managed to fight whatever came their way.

The future seems bright and full of possibilities. But things aren’t always as they seem. With Dante lurking in the shadows and secrets still threatening to ruin everything they’ve worked for, will they remain bound to the chains of the past? Or will they finally find Salvation?

I loved reading this series. The characters were great and the storyline was great.

I loved watching Damian and Gabrielle’s relationship grow. They had their problems, but they got through them all. I loved how they adjusted to their new phase of life together while dealing with Dante.

Damian is brilliant. He did everything he could to protect her. I loved it when Gabrielle did the same back with all of his ex-subs. Ultimately, they ended up dealing with things together. A few surprises come to light in this book which I quite liked. Again, they both deal with it all.

The ending was great. Damian needed that shock to his system, and ultimately, Dante had an opportunity because of it. I liked the ending with him. He got what he deserved and it was quite nice the way it occurred.

The ending ending was brilliant. It was a great way to round up the story, and it was brilliant to see them both happy.

My only criticism was that the flashback scenes weren’t clearly labelled. It took a while to realise thst it was in the past when reading a few scenes.

Overall, I really enjoyed this series and I would definitely recommend it.

My rating: 5/5*

A Dominant Fallen (A Dominant series Book 2) by Lena Black

This is the second book in A Dominant series.

Gabrielle Hyde and Damian Hunt were ready to create a life together. But, as determined as they were to build a future, the demons they fought to overcome were just as determined to destroy it.
As Hunt struggled to find the strength to trust Elle with his past, it abruptly collided with the present, forcing Elle to make the decision to walk away from the love of her life and, possibly, her only chance at true happiness.
As the two attempt to find their footing, a dark secret larger than either Damian or Elle could have imagined lurks in the shadows, waiting to make itself known…
Will their love survive? Will Elle’s desire to protect Damian from their shattered pasts tear them apart, or will it make them stronger? Will Damian find his way back to his heart, or will he remain…A Dominant Fallen?

I enjoyed reading this book. The characters are great and the storyline was good.

Gabrielle and Damian are great characters. I love how broken they both were without each other and the realisation that they needed to be together. Gabrielle left out of fear, and I loved the moment when Damian learnt the truth. It wasn’t him. It was Dante.

I loved how their relationship developed in this book. A lot happened in their time apart which they both had to deal with. They became closer inside and outside of the bedroom. Their relationship as Dom/sub developed as well as their love for one another.

I loved the ending. They were both so happy, getting everything they wanted, and then one little thing brought things crashing down. I’m looking forward to the next book and how things develop. I think Gabrielle and Damian will get through everything.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this book.

A Dominant Man (A Dominant series Book 1) by Lena Black

This is the first book in A Dominant series.

Gabrielle Hyde is bright, beautiful, and feisty, with a brilliant future ahead of her and an even darker past to overcome. Damian Hunt, CEO of Hunt Industries INC., is tormented by his inner demons, shattered past, and need to control.

When Elle falls into Hunt’s life, their need to be possessed by the other takes hold, beginning the young couple’s roller-coaster affair. Damian becomes obsessed by Elle, his need to dominate her, and his ability to give her what she deserves…Possibilities.

When their pasts decide to make themselves present, Elle starts to wonder if she could ever truly give in to such…A DOMINANT MAN

I enjoyed reading this book. The characters are good and the story developed well.

Gabrielle is a great character. She’s got a troubled past, but she’s also a strong independent woman. Damian’s lifestyle is new to her, and she doesn’t just give in to his every demand.

I loved reading their relationship develop. They’re so much more to eachother and both have scars from their past haunting them. Everything moved very quick though, and understood her reluctance. He is very intense. Their problem is that they don’t communicate as much as they should. Their answer to every problem is sex. Given his lifestyle, I understand it, but they are also claiming to be more which requires more.

The ending was exciting. Everything so happy, and I knew something was going to go wrong. I hope they manage to sort it out. I think the spark between them is natural, but they just need to communicate. I think he deserves to know what happened.

Overall, I enjoyed reading this book and I would definitely recommend it. I’m looking forward to reading the next one.
