This is the 14th book in the Harley Merlin series and the 5th one in the Finch Merlin series.
Finch is in deep, with no surface in sight.
He hadn’t expected a welcoming party when they whirlpooled into Atlantis—although “welcoming” isn’t exactly the right word. More like “mildly hostile.”
As descendants of the powerful Primus Anglicus, the Atlanteans are not to be trifled with. But Erebus isn’t leaving until he gets what he wants—and neither is Davin. Caught in the midst of a political battle royale, Finch can only ride out the waves.
And he knows he’ll be lucky to escape this underwater prison without leaving anyone behind.
For Melody, being trapped in an ancient, unfamiliar city is a dream come true. She hungers to fill the gaps in her knowledge, and Atlantis is a delicious buffet, from love potions and Death Day celebrations to beautiful and dangerous creatures.
Navigating this new world isn’t so scary with her trusty bodyguard by her side, though she must protect her own heart. History has shown that the Librarian isn’t supposed to fall in love… but what if it’s already too late?
I love this series. Finch is brilliant, the storyline is great and I love the way the plot develops.
Finch is having such a terrible time with things really. I love his will power to protect his friends and how he keeps going on even when everything is against him. He always manages to keep his sense of humour through it all.
I loved Melody’s perspective in this book. It was brilliant to see what’s going on in her Librarian head. Luke grew on me in this book, seeing him through her eyes. He hadn’t done so up until now, so I enjoyed seeing them two together in this book and seeing their relationship grow.
I love all the other characters. I’m feeling sorry for Ryann, stuck in this world with Lux and having to endure everything when she doesn’t have any magic like the others.
I also think Erebus and Lux are both written really well.
I loved seeing Atlantis and learning about their ways. Kaya is a great character, and I can understand things from her point of view, even if I don’t agree with them. I’m looking forward to seeing more of this world and their ways.
I’m enjoying the direction the plot is taking. There are twists you don’t see coming and I’m looking forward to reading the next book.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this book. This series is brilliant and the characters and storyline are great.
My rating: 5/5*
