This is the third book in The Heights Crew series.
In the Heights, everyone fears the Heights Crew. I wish I had the luxury.
I can’t afford to run away from them, I have to run to them. Why? Because now they’re my only chance at survival.
Johnny, Brawler, Oscar, Magnum—I hope we can all come together to get out of this. It’s going to take a lot more than luck to free me from the wrongs I’ve been accused of. Like relying on the one person I’d rather put a bullet in than place my life at his feet.
It’s done now, though. Now I’m more a part of them than I’ve ever wanted to be.
I’m not just their prizefighter. I’m their Beautiful Soldier.
This series has got me completely gripped. I absolutely love it, and this book was brilliant.
Kyla is a brilliant character. After the events of the last book, she finds herself in a sticky situation at the beginning of this one. Magnum and Johnny pull through the get her out of it though. She’s such a strong character, physically and mentally, and things definitely didn’t get easier for her in this book.
I’m in love with Johnny. I feel so sorry for him and we really get to see what his life is like in this book with how his dad treats him. His love for Kyla is quite endearing and I absolutely love how their relationship has developed. I was so happy to see him go against his dad’s orders and finally take his moments with Kyla. His reaction to finding out about the other guys was brilliant. Rather than kill them like you’d expect, he swears to fight for Kyla. I can see him eventually accepting them all, especially as he seems to be accepting Mags relationship with her. I just love him. He needs them all in his life.
I love Magnum too. You really see his relationship with Kyla develop in this book, and I just love his character. I love the respect and friendship he has towards Johnny as well.
Oscar and Brawler are also brilliant characters and I also love their relationship with Kyla. I also love they willingness to help Kyla save Johnny. They all have reason to hate him, but they accept what Kyla sees in him and are willing to help, bring him into their little family. I hope it all works out well in the end.
I didn’t think it was possible to hate a character as much as I hate Big Daddy K. He is a monster of a man. His reaction and punishment after finding out about Johnny and Kyla disobeying his orders was the last straw for him. I really hope he gets what he deserves.
The storyline is brilliant. More twists keep occurring and it’s exciting to see. The ending was another cliffhanger which has left me desperate to know what happens next. I swear that if anything happens to Johnny, I’ll loose it.
Overall, this series is fantastic, and I loved this book. I would absolutely recommend it.
My rating: 5/5*
