Buttons and Hate by Penelope Sky

This is the second book in the buttons series.

I’m working off my buttons.

But I’m also giving them away.

The more I fall for Crow, the more I want him to do the things that I want.

Dinners, dates, and evenings at the beach.

Everything comes at a price, and the hoard of buttons I worked hard to earn are quickly depleted.

Will this go back and forth forever? Or will someone run out of their buttons first?

I really enjoyed reading this book. The characters are brilliant and the story and plot flow well.

I love Pearl. She’s such a strong character. Even after everything she’s been through, she stays strong and as independent as she can be.

Crow is frustrating. I absolutely loved how his relationship with Pearl has grown into some more, but he is so stubborn and stuck in his head that he won’t admit the truth or face how he really feels. I’m mad with him after the ending.

The story is good. I like how Pearls relationship with Cane took a nose dive before building again. She got through a lot once again, but this time she had Crow there to pick up the pieces.

Crow better go after her and I really want to see them take Bones down together. The spark and spice between them is smoking hot, but there’s also emotion involved. Emotion that Crow can’t seem to face. I hope he realises what his stubbornness has cost him so that he can go and fix his mess.

Overall, this book was great and I’m looking forward to reading the next. I would definitely recommend it.

My rating: 5/5*
