Zodiac Academy 4: Shadow Princess by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti

This is the 4th book in the Zodiac Academy series.

The shadows are in my blood.
I can feel them crawling through me, slithering under my skin and taking me hostage.

But the darkness within me, isn’t nearly as bad as the darkness that lives around me.

The four heirs will stop at nothing to destroy the lives of me and my sister.

But they haven’t figured out yet, we’re the strongest creatures they’ve ever known…

I absolutely love this series.

This book was brilliant to read. The storyline is brilliant, the plot develops well and the characters are fantastic.

I love Darcy and Tory. They are so different from one another, yet together they are invincible. They are written so brilliantly that you really feel everything they feel. Their journey is fantastic to read. They keep developing amd becoming stronger as the books go on.

Darcy and Lance’s relationship is everything. It’s brilliant. I love them together. Their moments together are spectacular to read and their connection to eachother is absolutely brilliant.

Darius is having a brilliant character development as the books go on. I really like him now, although he is far too stubborn, which only adds to his connection with Tory.

I really hate Seth. He’s written so well that I really do hate him. He is the worst one of the Heirs. Everything he does is cruel whilst at least the others have moments where they’re alright.

The world building is part of what makes this series fantastic. You can visualise everything so well. The Orders are brilliant and each one has its own unique characteristic which spills out to how they act in fae form. The concept behind star signs having such a prominent meaning is brilliant. The faebook posts and horoscopes just add to the greatness of it. You can’t fault this amazing world.

The whole plot with the shadows has been great to read. It has been interesting seeing Darcy and Tory learn to deal with this new 5th element, and the added aspect with Clara made it all the more interesting.

The ending.

What have you done? It was absolutely gut wrenching, not just once, but twice!

The whole book helps develop you emotionally towards these characters, and then the ending happens. It’s an emotional roller-coaster to read and has left me feeling a bit shell shocked.

I don’t know how it’s going to be fixed, but somehow it better or I don’t think I can cope.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this series. It’s absolutely brilliant. The character development is fantastic, the storyline is brilliant and the writing is faultless. The next book couldn’t come soon enough because the ending needs to be fixed somehow.
