This is the second book in the Dragon Fire Academy series.
The good news: my four guardians are more than just a brood of cocky dragons. I was drawn to this island to find them … my mates.
The sucky news: an ancient evil has marked me as its vessel, but I suppose one girl can’t have all the luck, right?
I was warned that second term would be a challenge, but nothing could have prepared me for this. As if things aren’t already hard enough, one innocent slipup threatens to cost me big time.
Every day, it gets harder to tell friend from foe. Especially with more than one enemy who wants to make sure I lose everything.
Thing is, no one has any idea how fiercely I’m willing to fight. I guess they’ll learn the hard way that I’m no pushover.
Giving up simply isn’t in my blood.
I enjoyed reading this book. The storyline progressed well from the last, the characters are great and the plot developed well.
Noelle is a good main character. It’s interesting to see how she’s coping after going through the big change that she did. It’s also to see how she differs from everyone else. Things go right and things go wrong. She fights through everything regardless.
I love the four guys. They’re strong, caring and fierce. It’s great to see how Noelles relationship with all of them progresses and how she treats each one of them.
The island tradition and the way of life for the hives is interesting to read. Noelle is an outsider, so seeing her learn about all these new ways has been good.
Things definitely got interesting near the end. I’m interested to see what happens in the next book.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this series. The storyline is good, the plot develops well and the characters are great.
My rating: 5/5*
