Liar (Madison Kate Book 2) by Tate James

This is the second book in the Madison Kate series.

“Liar, liar, pants on fire.”

The words scrawled on the back of my newest stalker mail makes my blood run cold. I have no idea if it’s the lie I know, or one that I don’t.

Since arriving back into Shadow Grove, I’ve been stalked, tormented, chased and almost killed. I’ve been lied to, repeatedly, by people I was growing to trust.

Liar.

That word haunts me. Someone knows more about my life than I do. Someone is taunting me with answers and teasing me with secrets. Am I desperate enough to fall for more deception?

Archer and his boys made a huge mistake when they lied to me. They thought they could play me but they’re about to learn that they’ve met their match.

No one stabs Madison Kate and gets away with it.

I enjoyed reading this book. The storyline is great, the plot develops at a good pace, and the characters are great.

Madison Kate is a great character. She’s strong, tough, sassy and doesn’t take any shit from anyone. She’s been through a lot, and goes through more. She makes it through everything, and you have to admire her determination to get by.

I love Kody and Steele in this book. Both of them developed well, and actually became more understanding of how Madison Kate feels. I loved how their relationships developed and the three of them together was hot.

Archer is an arsehole. I love the sexual tension between them, but he is still a dick. It was nice to see his family home at thanksgiving, and we got to learn a little more about his family. He just continues to act like a dick around Madison Kate though.

I enjoyed the storyline and the development with her attempted murder and stalker. Are they the same person or different? I like how the boys are protective of her, and they do save her life.

Madison Kate’s dad is a dickhead, especially after the revelation at the end. I do feel like theirs more to the story though.

I enjoyed the ending. It was action packed, and then with what happened to Madison Kate. I liked seeing her with Archer then, before they argued as usual. Then the revelation at the end was a shocker. I’m looking forward to reading the next book and finding out how that develops.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. The storyline was great and the characters are brilliant. I would definitely recommend this series.

My rating: 5/5*
