This is the first book in the Rich Demons of Darkwood series.
The world knows me as the Demon’s Daughter.
He’s a famous serial killer. And I may have been his accomplice.
But no one knows for sure except for me.
The dangerous, cruel men of the Sphinx secret society intend to uncover my secrets…and break me.
Stellan, my childhood crush who lost his sister to the Demon.
Cain, the boy with the face of an angel to who manipulation comes as easy as breathing;
Remington, the playboy soccer star full of secrets.
Pax, the dark psycho who hides behind his fists.
I hoped for a second chance at Darkwood University, only to have my dream ripped away the first time I kissed one of the handsome bastards.
They know who I am.
And they’re determined to make me pay.
They should have thought twice about who they were playing with.
Because I am the demon’s daughter. And just because they have the power, the connections, the faces and bodies of gods… do they really think they’ll win?
I wanted a new life, not a war.
But if they insist, we’ll see who ends up playing.
This book was brilliant. The storyline was great and the characters were fantastic.
I love Aurora. She is such a fantastic character. Strong, determined, and yet vulnerable, and you can’t help to feel sorry for her. She’s the victim of her fathers actions, and yet she’s being prosecuted for it.
The boys are great characters, although they are right arseholes. They’re hypocrites. They have their demons just as much as she does, and yet most of their actions are of their own doing. Aurora didn’t exactly have a choice when her father made her do the things he did. They treat her like a murderer, and yet they aren’t much better, especially Cain.
And yet I liked parts of them. There was moments when they treated her better and more like an equal. I think Pax and Remington were my favourites. They seemed far more understanding towards her at times. Stellan was just harsh. He’s struggling with the past and with who she is now Cain seemed to connect with her darkness because he has his own, but he was also a dick.
None of them seem to be able to accept that she didn’t do the things she was made to do willingly. They just see and believe the worst in her.
I enjoyed watching the interactions and development between them all. They all have a spark towards her no matter how much they want to hate each other. There were some pretty hot moments.
The ending was just brutal. It was uncalled for and I seriously hope that she gets her own back and makes them pay.
Overall, this book was brilliant and I would definitely recommend it. I’m looking forward to reading the next one in the series.
My rating: 5/5*
