The Ivy Lessons (Ivy Lessons Series Book 1) by SK Quinn

This is the first book in the Ivy Lessons series.

When I won a student place at Ivy College, I couldn’t believe my luck. One of the most famous drama schools in London, Ivy College is a beautiful castle-like building set in roaming green grounds. I’ve been given a full-scholarship – enough for my college fees, full-board, plus a whole new wardrobe. But there’s a problem. Ivy College is owned by famous, British actor, Marc Blackwell. Impossibly handsome and indie-star sexy, Marc teaches us once a week. Known for his strict classes and belief in discipline, Marc has a reputation for being arrogant and aloof. Yet despite his cool reputation, sparks fly when our eyes meet. Marc is cold. But he is also fascinating. His eyes go deep into my soul and I can’t look away. Sometimes, our hands touch. and I don’t pull back. And Marc’s strict discipline sends shivers down my spine. I want more, but this May to December romance is totally forbidden. A student cannot fall in love with her teacher …

I loved reading this book. The characters were fantastic and the storyline was great. I’m a fan of forbidden teacher/student relationship books and this one definitely didn’t let me down.

Oh my God, Marc Blackwell was the best. He’s such a dark, broody character and I loved him. I enjoyed watching him grow close to Sofia and I loved how he always had her best intentions at heart. Sofia is a great character as well.

I loved watching them grow closer. Marc knows that it’s wrong and he tries to fight it. Sofia is adamant though. Neither of them want to fight the spark between them. I loved the scenes between them as well. Marc’s such an alpha male and I loved it.

The storyline was good. I’d like to learn more about Marc and what’s made him so dark and craving control. We’ve only seen rough glimpses really regarding his father and upbringing. I like how Marc wants to protect Sofia from everything, especially the press. Ultimately, she needs to decide at the end regarding taking things further with him.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I’m looking forward to the next book in the series. Marc and Sofia were great characters and the storyline was good. I would definitely recommend this book.

My rating: 5/5*
